Artist Statement

Faces are intriguing to me. People's thoughts, feelings and experiences usually tell a story. This is what my pictures convey, the relationship between oneself and life, the emotions faces project. I love capturing those expressions of joy, fear, frustration, anguish, distress, forlorn, sadness and the many other manifestations that faces transmit.

Most of my pictures are created from photographs I've taken. I will draw, paint and/or Photoshop those photographs, sometimes combining two or all three mediums. Doing this gives me a unique qay of projecting the person's emotions. All prints are further enhanced with either pastels, acrylic, ink and/or colored pencil.

I do commissions (pg. 8) and all of my works are available as cards, (postcards, note cards...sold in sets of 5-10, magnets, calendars and stamps.
